2. One of the major rivers in Texas is the Brazos (short for “Brazos del Dios” or Arms of God). I spent a lot of time driving across this river on trips between home and college. I even spent a certain amount of time in the Brazos — usually after being thrown into it during a beer bust along the banks. Writing this tune somehow evoked mental images of crossing the Brazos on horseback.
